One of Japan’s three great architects (the other two being Tadao Ando and Kisho Kurokawa), he is the founder and chief designer of Arata Isozaki & Associates. His works draw on design philosophies that blend Eastern and Western cultures, expressing cultural elements through poetic metaphors and embodying the fusion of traditional culture with modern life. His representative designs include the Disney Headquarters in Florida, USA; the Museum of Modern Art in Munich, Germany; and the Kyoto Concert Hall in Japan. He was also responsible for the design of the China Wetland Museum and the condominium-style hotel within Xixi Paradise.
